Food Plot Screen

An Egyptian Wheat Screen.  Photos will show the progression of this screen in 2012.

5/12/12  starting with a grass field the area for the screen was selected and mowed.  On the same day the area was tilled to begin preparing the seedbed.  The Eqyptian Wheat seeds were planted on 5/19/12 by drilling them after incorporating Lime, Fertilizer, and Urea.  On 06/0912 the Egyptian Wheat was sprayed with Atrazine for lasting weed control throughout the growing season.  On 6/29/12, only 40 days after planting, we have an effective screen already in place with growth still to come.  On 6/29/12 the screen is about 6 feet tall and as you can see from the pictures below, it is very thick, offering deer a sense of security and a very effective screen already.  This screen is at about 1/2 the height it will reach when mature.
